About

Who Tech Problem Solved is for, how guides are written, and how to send corrections.

Tech Problem Solved is a UK-English troubleshooting site run by Rob. It covers everyday technology: phones, tablets, Windows PCs, laptops, Macs and MacBooks, Amazon Fire Sticks, smart TVs, home Wi‑Fi and common software.

Who writes the guides

Rob edits every guide on this site. The focus is practical home troubleshooting — clear menu paths, honest limits, and a stop-point before unsafe hardware work. Corrections from readers are folded back into the pages when OS menus move.

Who it is for

We write for people who are stuck mid-problem — the phone will not charge before work, the Fire Stick buffers every evening, Windows will not finish an update. You do not need to be a technician; you do need clear steps, honest limits, and links to the next related fix.

How we keep quality high

We deliberately publish a curated set of high-intent guides instead of auto-generating thousands of near-identical model pages. Each guide follows the same trustworthy pattern: what you will need, symptoms, likely causes, numbered steps with diagrams, what success looks like, prevention tips, when to stop DIY, and FAQs. Menu paths are matched to the operating system family (iOS, Android, Windows, macOS, Fire OS, and so on).

What we are not

We are not a paid repair shop, insurer or manufacturer support line. Hardware faults, liquid damage and board-level failures still need a reputable local repairer or the vendor’s service programme.

Corrections

Menus move after OS updates. If a path is wrong on your device, email hello@techproblemsolved.co.uk with the model, OS version and what you see on screen — we use corrections to improve the guides.
